Privacy Policy
Last updated: 5 August 2026
CalmPath ("we", "us", "our") is an autism-friendly wellbeing companion app built and operated in Australia. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your data is collected, used, and shared. This policy explains what information we collect and how we handle it.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name you choose. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email associated with that account. Your password is stored securely and never visible to us.
Wellbeing data
The information you enter into CalmPath — mood check-ins, energy and sleep logs, triggers, routines, tasks, goals, sensory profile, happy thoughts, safe places, change events, Calm Kit items, and conversations with Nova — is stored so you can use the app and review your history. This data is linked to your account.
Usage and device data
We may collect basic, anonymous analytics about how the app is used (such as which screens are visited) to improve the product. We do not collect precise location data unless you choose to save a Safe Place with a location.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the app features you use
- To save your entries so you can review your mood, routines, and history
- To generate personalised insights and AI support responses (via Nova)
- To send optional daily check-in reminders, if you enable them
- To provide carer or support worker access, only when you explicitly enable it
- To improve and maintain the quality and accessibility of the app
3. Conversations with Nova (AI)
Messages you send to Nova are stored with your conversation history so you can revisit them. They are sent to a third-party AI language model provider to generate a response. We recommend not sharing sensitive personal details or identifying information about others in your conversations.
4. Carer Sharing
You can choose to share specific data — your mood logs, routines, and/or sensory profile — with a designated carer or support worker. Sharing is entirely opt-in and granular: you control exactly what is visible, and you can revoke access at any time from Settings. Carers only ever see what you have explicitly permitted.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely on protected infrastructure. Access is restricted to authorised personnel and is only used to operate and maintain the service. Your data is linked to your account and is only visible to you (and to any carer you have authorised for specific data). We do not sell your data to third parties.
6. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We only share information in these limited circumstances:
- With third-party providers that help us operate the app (such as AI and payment processors), who are bound by their own privacy obligations
- With a carer you have explicitly authorised, limited to the data you have chosen to share
- Where required by law or to protect the safety of any person
7. Subscriptions and Billing
Premium subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store. Payment is processed by Apple — we do not receive or store your full card details. We receive a record of your subscription status to apply Premium features to your account.
8. Your Rights and Choices
- Delete your account: You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings.
- Manage sharing: Disable carer sharing or change what is visible from Settings.
- Manage reminders: Turn daily reminders on or off in Settings.
- Manage your subscription: Cancel or change your Premium plan in your Apple Account settings.
To make a privacy request or ask a question about your data, contact us at support@calmpath.au.
9. Children and Young People
CalmPath supports children, teens, and adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 without the involvement of a parent, guardian, or authorised carer. If a young person uses CalmPath, we encourage a trusted adult to help set up the account and manage carer sharing preferences.
10. Not a Medical or Crisis Service
CalmPath is a wellbeing companion, not a medical device or a crisis service. It does not diagnose conditions or provide medical advice. If you are in immediate danger, call 000 (Australia). For 24/7 mental health support, call Lifeline on 13 11 14, Beyond Blue on 1300 22 4636, or Kids Helpline on 1800 55 1800.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as CalmPath evolves. We will update the "last updated" date above whenever we make meaningful changes. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
